Dr Sunita Gandhi

She is an Indian educator, innovator, researcher and author focused on transforming educational practice. She earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge, UK, worked as a Research Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, and later joined the World Bank as a Young Professional and Economist. Driven by her passion for education, she founded the Council for Global Education and established experimental schools in the Czech Republic and Iceland. In India, she founded the Global Education & Training Institute and the non-profit Dignity, Education, Vision International, introducing new models of teaching and learning. She is the creator of the Accelerating Learning for All (ALfA) pedagogy, developed over two decades of trials and research, and launched the PATH Movement for a Purposeful, Active, Transformative and Holistic education worldwide. Dr Gandhi has visited and studied education systems in 51 countries and has received international recognition for her work. She has served as Chief Academic Advisor to City Montessori School, the world’s largest school, founded by her parents. Her efforts have been honoured with the title “Visionary of Uttar Pradesh” by leading daily Dainik Bhaskar and the “Educator of the Year” award by the India Book of Records.

Group Executive Director

Nixon Joseph

Nixon Joseph is the Group Executive Director of Dignity Education Vision International (DEVI Sansthan), Lucknow, since November 2024. Established in 1992 and part of the CMS Group—home to the world’s largest school—DEVI Sansthan works nationally and globally to strengthen education systems and outcomes.

Prior to this role, Nixon served as CEO of CLT India, Bengaluru (2021–2024), and earlier as President & COO of SBI Foundation. He began his career with the State Bank of India in 1985 as a Probationary Officer and went on to build a distinguished 35-year banking career across Corporate Credit, Retail Operations, Risk Management, and International Banking.

Our Dean

Mr Sanjay Tiwari

He is an academic administrator and educator with over 30 years of experience, including 16 years as Principal in leading IB, Cambridge and CBSE schools in India and abroad. His strengths lie in curriculum design, teacher training, academic audit and the strategic implementation of academic frameworks, all of which shape the work of J & B Gandhi Academy for Transformation in Education.

He has worked with the Council of International Schools, CBSE’s Centre of Excellence as a Master Trainer, and the IB Global Assessment Centre in roles related to accreditation, assessment and school quality. Known for his transformational leadership style and experience in multi-cultural school ecosystems, Mr Tiwari brings both rigour and warmth to the Academy’s Professional Development Course in Transformational Education (ALfA × Hi PATH).
