She is an Indian educator, innovator, researcher and author focused on transforming educational practice. She earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge, UK, worked as a Research Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, and later joined the World Bank as a Young Professional and Economist. Driven by her passion for education, she founded the Council for Global Education and established experimental schools in the Czech Republic and Iceland. In India, she founded the Global Education & Training Institute and the non-profit Dignity, Education, Vision International, introducing new models of teaching and learning. She is the creator of the Accelerating Learning for All (ALfA) pedagogy, developed over two decades of trials and research, and launched the PATH Movement for a Purposeful, Active, Transformative and Holistic education worldwide. Dr Gandhi has visited and studied education systems in 51 countries and has received international recognition for her work. She has served as Chief Academic Advisor to City Montessori School, the world’s largest school, founded by her parents. Her efforts have been honoured with the title “Visionary of Uttar Pradesh” by leading daily Dainik Bhaskar and the “Educator of the Year” award by the India Book of Records.
